My Approach to Treatment

Treatment Philosophy
I believe in a holistic and individualized approach to mental health care. Each patient is unique, and my goal is to tailor treatment to meet your specific needs and circumstances.

Understanding Your Journey
I start with a thorough assessment, taking the time to understand your history, current challenges, and personal goals. This foundational step allows us to collaboratively develop a treatment plan, which will include medications, psychotherapy, or both. I prioritize creating a safe and supportive environment where you can explore your thoughts and feelings openly.

Psychotherapy
Psychotherapy constitutes an important part of treatment for most psychiatric symptoms and disorders including depression, bipolar disorder, OCD and related disorders and anxiety disorders. In our sessions, I utilize evidence-based therapeutic techniques such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness practices, and psychodynamic approaches. These methods can help you gain insight, develop coping strategies, and enhance your overall well-being.

Medication Management
Psychotropic medications work to modulate the activity of neurons, or brain cells, involved in the brain circuits governing emotional and behavioral symptoms. If they are appropriate for your symptoms, I will discuss with you the risks and benefits of the various medication options so that you can make an informed decision about your medical care.

Collaborative and Flexible
I believe in a collaborative therapeutic relationship. Your input is invaluable in shaping our work together, and I encourage ongoing dialogue about what is and isn’t working for you.
